Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

GDS has gathered talents from over 30 different ethnic minorities, as well as employees with disabilities, diverse skin colors, and varied beliefs. We have taken robust measures to promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Anti-discrimination and anti-harassment

In the "GDS Business Code of Conduct" and the "Employee Handbook," we explicitly provide equal employment opportunities and working environments for all employees, prohibiting discrimination or harassment based on race, religion, gender, age, nationality, or other characteristics prohibited by law or regulations.

Women's care

We offer maternity leave, provide lactation rooms in the workplace, and other benefits for special holiday care. We support women's career development, and as of 2023, women held 30% of executive positions at GDS.

Cultural diversity and integration

We have established a localized management system, advocating for the recruitment of local talents overseas and conducting ongoing nurturing programs. In 2023, the proportion of localized talent in various overseas regions exceeded 90%. We organize various cross-cultural activities and provide a platform for diverse cultural employee exchanges.

Respect for and protection of human rights

We firmly adhere to the spirit of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and relevant international human rights conventions. We strictly comply with local laws, regulations, and industry norms at our operational sites, prohibiting child labor and forced labor.

We ensure equal pay for equal work and respect and uphold all employees' legitimate rights to freedom of association. During the reporting period, no incidents related to child labor, forced labor, or risks of violating indigenous rights were identified.

Compensation and benefits

We have established comprehensive compensation and benefits policies, implemented long-term equity incentive plans, and created a benefit-sharing mechanism aligned with the company's strategic development.

Training and development

We have built a multi-channel, comprehensive training system to meet employees' development needs at different stages. We have also introduced multiple external training resources and provided support measures for employees' educational and skill level advancement.

Occupational health and safety

We continuously improve our EHS management system and measures, establishing clear and specific safety operating procedures. All data centers and office locations are equipped with automated external defibrillators (AEDs), ensuring the presence of certified personnel in proportion to the facilities.

Employee well-being

We provide fitness equipment in the workplace, organize diverse cultural and sports activities to help employees enhance their physical fitness and enrich their leisure time.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Establish a well-defined philanthropic management framework, focusing on two main areas: "Caring for Orphans and the Disabled" and invigorating China through science and education.

Caring for Orphans and the Disabled

Donate 500,000 RMB to continue supporting the "Shanghai Chunhui Care Home" project, demonstrating our commitment to improving the living conditions of vulnerable groups.

Promoting Technological Advancement

GDS forged a significant partnership with the Tsinghua University Education Foundation by signing a donation agreement to establish the Institute for AI Industry Research, Tsinghua University-GDS Named Professor and Youth Scholar Program. This initiative aims to drive innovative breakthroughs in AI research over a five-year duration. We have committed to a total donation of RMB 10 million towards this program, with RMB 2 million donated to this collaboration in 2023.
